Praz Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 That's why speculation is a waste of time. Everyone reads things differently. Nothing will be known for sure until Vista is released if even then.

firefox11 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Vista64 has the same issues as xp64..Hopefully 64 bit will "catch on" since Vista will be a "big" release (much more than xp64 was). Microsoft onecare isn't 64bit. I'm currently using Mcaffee enterprise 8.5.0. It's working well so far. Avast caused slowdowns in every running program. (-: FireFox :-)
gord27 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 i've gone back to xp. reason? nfs:carbon would not work. i bought the retail and wanted to play it so i had to go back to xp. btw, i ran 3dmark 2k6 just now and get 300pts more final score in xp then vista. cpu is about 200pts higher in xp as well. EllisD Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 *sigh* http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/743/743502p1.html All i have to say is Boooo! They better get on that. So many people are used to the superior audio that EAX provides. Thats not going to go over well with the gaming community.
Angry_Games Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Vista is touted to be THE gaming OS in the future right? I mean, MS is creating a whole suite of tools and APi's for Vista and forcing hardware mfg's to go to DX10 routines that MS has specified etc... ReelFiles Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Why would they prefer software emulated sound? That's just more resources wasted
KimTjik Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Some more reading about Vista, this time about how MS is limiting how a user can publish benchmarks: http://www.infoworld.com/article/06/10/31/...hmarking_1.html If this is correct I'm getting very confused about MS's intentions.
