    The AMD 3GHz Club

3GHz, are you up for the challenge? I present you with the opportunity to prove yourself to the street, claim yourself a mention on the 3G Clubroom walls and make that system of yours run a little bit stronger. Come join the 3G clubroom, the doors are open to all but if you want to get on the honours roll you will need to show your rig can do what you say it does. You're not proving it to the street, you're proving it to yourself. The requirements are as follows : 1 - Must be an AMD cpu. 2 - Must be OCDB stable. Hence, it must also have a valid OCDB entry. 3 - Must be 3GHz or greater. Apart from that, the rules are open. What I want to see is everyone pushing their systems and proving to themselves what they can do. And paramount, this is about fun and making our systems better. That way everyone prospers and we all learn a little bit more. So, do YOU accept the challenge? New!! The 3G Super Pi RaceDay Challenge! Show us what your cpu can do when it's got race slicks on and taken down a dragstrip! RaceDay rules are as follows : 1 - Must bring own helmet! 2 - Championship rankings require 1M and 32M entries. 3 - Super Pi must be mod1.4 or later. 4 - 2 CPU-Z screens showing cpu and memory tabs. (There are exceptions allowed here). 5 - Super Pi must show full calculation. 6 - ANY clock you want, it doesn't even have to be above 3G! So get those engines revving and show us your 1/4 mile score!

Great to see you back Ed and even better to hear you're getting on top of things. Those FX's better be ready because I get the feeling they're about to get the thrashing of their lives! Looking forward to seeing what you can do with them

All my work is command line over ssh, less overhead with init 3 I'm doing a lot of virtualisation currently, my goal is to get virtual Win XP running on SuSE with my main machine. We'll see how this one plays out..

I'm still here mate Work is unbelievable at the moment and I am up until 1am most nights on a test server (SuSE, not Gentoo it's the industry standard unfortunately) Nice update Clay! Less volts and more hertz, that's the way to do it! If I'm ever lacking, just pop me a PM and I'll attend to it.. (eventually ) I haven't even had the luxury of time to overclock since moving into this place, play me a violin, but rest assured, this is still one of my homes But for now.. it is back into Xen and my girl SuSE..

Nice scores there wil! Congrats on the GGG! Hopefully I'll be around more, I've been kinda lax lately. Moved out on my own and have been working towards getting my Novell certification when work isn't constantly hounding me. Aahh.. the life of the eternal "on call". At least they give me servers to play with..

I always had easy clocks with A64 because I knew my ram so well. If you only have to worry about the cpu, then things are rather simple, just dial up the voltage, set the MAL/RP to cater for the ram divider and off we go. But my ram always did play nice with the Ultra-D.

Two entries by a kiwi? I'm not sure I can allow that Then again, I'm always partial to a naked cpu..

    4GHZ club?

It'll be pretty quiet for half a year. I'm just waiting for K10 to bring back some more entries into the AMD C3G Quad core at 3GHz? Why, don't mind if I do! Edit: JC! Talk about digging up an old thread!?! LOL @ myself

Sometimes chips perform best on their native multi. I know my 148 didn't like 9x yet Timmay's 144 worked like a treat in the same board/setup.

dede99 - Take out 2 sticks so you're only running 2x512 for testing. You may have to loosen your MAL/RP as well because of running on a divider, give the memory controller time to work with the divider.

QFT. I had PC3200 TCCD that did 300MHz, PC3500 BH-5 that did 260MHz.. budget stuff is the best if you luck out.
