slicey Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Anyone care to elaborate? i will. some circuits require polarized capacitors to be used. this means the cap has [+] and [-] specified leads. slicey
Squid1 Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 i will. some circuits require polarized capacitors to be used. this means the cap has [+] and [-] specified leads. slicey Aren't these just Elkos (electrolyte capacitor) or is my German schooling getting in my way? My understanding is that you can always replace an Elko with a normal capacitor, but of course the Elko (which requires DC and correct polarity) is much smaller. davidhammock200 Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 I received my seasonic S12-600 (rev A02) yesterday, no problem, it's working well with my DFi nf4 ultra D. The only bad thing is that with only one hard drive, my volts are: 3.18-4.86-11.95 please does someone know why I have low voltage with this PSU and only one hard drive? My PC: A64 venice 3000+ @ 2.6G 1.6v 2*512 DDR600 Patriot Dfi nf4 ultra d Seasonic S12 600 Seagate 200Go Ide His radeon X800xl 256 Pci-e Use a DMM & test like this: http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/show...ad.php?t=137886 The +3.3V is out of spec. nicux Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Use a DMM & test like this: http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/show...ad.php?t=137886 The +3.3V is out of spec. Well, I may do that. However, I think that all the sensors are bad on my motherboard... Temperatures: for CPU [email protected] on an Asus a8v deluxe 1.6vcore -> 48C full the same cpu, same speed, same vcore, on the dfi nf4 -> 55C full Voltage: I put 7 hard drives + a dvd drive in my PC, and the 3.18-4.86-11.95 stayed axactly the same, even when I bench the PC. davidhammock200 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 A BIOS update may solve your sensor problems, no guarantees.
Squid1 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I'll try the capacitor on my Seasonic next time I rip all my boxes apart. What's a good place to mailorder just one without getting killed in shipping cost? Anybody with a selection willing to send me one? Radioshack? then you only get to pay for the bubble packageing Digikey, newark, or mouser are online electronic component places where you can order some caps, but you might need a minimum order in $$, and a cap isn't gonna cost much - unless you wanna buy some other junk there as well another option is if you have any old electronic stuff around the house that is broken or too old to be useful, you could probably salvage one out of something.
