Search for lower prices as you may very well find some on the Fortron Storm 500W, the Antecs & the Enermax's.

Enermax also has 485W PSU's that might be cheaper.

Good Luck

The first post states "Minimum of +12V@24A for Single Video Card Systems"

I plan on buying a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra mobo, with a AMD64 3000+ and EVGA 6600GT card. I currently have a Antec Truepower 430W psu (20pin) that I bought less than a year ago. Im on a tight budget, and dont really want to buy another PSU.

The specs on my psu are

+5V@36A, +3.3V@28A, +12V@26A, [email protected], -12V@1A, +5VSB@2A

So the 12V rail is 2A higher then the minimum. So would my current PSU be ok?

Because DFI said so. Period.

But really, the increased power demands of the motherboard and peripherals along with the seriously over-rated power claims of the vast majority of power supplies.

The nF4 chipset and the specific demands of the design require more than the average PSU can provide. By specifying a 480W 24pin PSU they are helping you avoid problems.

These requirements come from the guys that designed the board. Ignore their advice at your own peril.

I really would like to know WHY its required. No one really says why, just "it does".

Anyway, anyone have experience with a Antec Neopower? I found one for a decent price. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=...101&hdwt=0&sp=1

Your PSU has the power, as you are only running a 6600GT, but does not meet the DFI requirements.

Native 24-pin ATX & a min of 480W.

I think this PSU should be added.

Tagan's are recommended, but I sure wish they would update their website. ;)

Fortron Blue Storm 500W Review:

The Fortron Source Blue Storm ax500A is such a fine power supply that we were able to witness a huge improvement in overall system performance, overclockability, and stability. Our A64 test bed proved to be a bit finicky about wanting to be overclocked until we took out the tired old TT 480W, and put the AX500A in its place. As if a miracle took place we no longer had any of the problems such as BSOD's, and an unstable overclock. I had no idea that a power supply, much less a 20W improvement would have that kind of impact. What it all comes down to is quality, and the AX500-A reeks of it. Its almost like owning a weapon with its weight and quality. The funny thing is that it doesn't look any better than the TT 480W on paper, but it really did cure all our overclocking woes! Simply Amazing!
