Drdeath Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I heard of a few pump problems.
Waco Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I think I remember people saying you need to have a bit of air flow over the bottom of the water bay / pump enclosure to avoid overheating the pump long-term. It's a good kit other than that one potential issue.
medbor Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Heard of pump problems too, but that might me a rare issue?
Nuclear Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I have one of those kits in my AMD rig, and it works great. I didn't care for the fans and the radiator is a very old design that's not too efficient, but the fans are easy to swap out and the rad will cool...just not nearly as well as a RX360 or HWLabs product. My AMD rig gets used almost daily by my wife and I've never had a problem with the pump or reservoir, and that's without any type of airflow around it. It's been pushing water through a RX360 and two GTX 460 FC blocks without a hiccup. It's not strong enough to run much more, but my pump setups in my Intel rigs cost alot more than this complete kit, so you get what you pay for. wevsspot Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 NYT - go for it. It's a perfect starter kit. If the pump is going to go it's going to go early. Otherwise it will last you long enough until you're ready to do something else. I've been very happy with my XSPC Res/Pump combo. Nyt Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I don't know about the WC kit, but I do approve of your new sig pic! Lol thanks thats what everone seems to be telling me I think I remember people saying you need to have a bit of air flow over the bottom of the water bay / pump enclosure to avoid overheating the pump long-term. It's a good kit other than that one potential issue. Im sure I can mod a fan in there , I've got some fast 120mm's and 80mm's so I'll fit which ever has enough space. NYT - go for it. I've been very happy with my XSPC Res/Pump combo. Ok thanks Wevs . Hopefully the pump will live for quite a while Else I'll just buy a seperate res and get a MCP655 pump with new barbs and fittings for 1/2 ID tubing This kit is costing me $315 in converted currency so it better be worth it . I've got a buyer for my H70 anyway
