surya Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 http://www.guru3d.com/article/nforce_780i_sli_review/482/ Now I wonder if newegg has it cuz that mobo looks sick!
iKillSteal Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 You know what's going to be even more sick? The price tag they're going to slap on that... It is a wicked-nice looking board, though...Looks like it'll be a good overclockers, too.
kendellrt Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 If you have an EVGA 680i and it is registered with them online, they are offering an upgrade to the 780i for $89.99 for the next 60 days.
firky Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 will it be just as crap as the 680i??

kingdingeling Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Looks like nrg will be happy on this one, seeing he has *two* EVGA 680i's btw, the one linked to in the review is a XFX 780i
SMeeD Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I wonder if I can still register my board even though I bought it months ago.
surya Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) Oh yeah xfx...oops but I did see that evga has their's out on newegg. Its 289 but 269 on their own site...got confused. http://www.evga.com/articles/385.asp Edited December 18, 2007 by surya
kingdingeling Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I have to say though, that review from Guru3D sucks! NVIDIA here, NVIDIA there, hooray! SLI ready memory is "really a great feature".... Also, the benchmarks don't give any decent comparison, except 780i vs. X38. How can you compare these combinations in a motherboard review?!?! E6600 + 680i (only on the first benchmarks) Q6600 + 680i QX6850 + 680i (takes over once the E6600 was dropped ) QX9650 + 680i QX9770 + 780i QX9770 + X38 If you want a fair comparison, you need the same processor for each board, how can you compare the 680i with a weaker processor to the 780i with the better processor? Makes NO sense to me!

Makes NO sense to me! Agreed, as a reviewer that testing method made no sense to me. It was totally FUBAR. I learned absolutely nothing from that review except maybe that I need a better processor. capthowdy575 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I dont know about this board i mean the x38 chipset held up pretty well against the 780i. the board looks nice and everything but if im going to pay 250 i would just through down a little more and get a bad azz x38 board.
