Well if nothing else it would make a heck of a paper weight.

You guys ruin all the fun.

If you're going to be a mad man...go buy a 4850x2 ;)

GTX 295 or GTFO.

2 GB on a 5970 means two 5870 1 GB cards...so a "2 GB 5970" is only a 1 GB card thanks to how Crossfire works.

Seriously, it's a waste of money. Even if you can find a 4 GB version (so really a 2 GB card) it's just not worth the money.

Yeah, I know. He was talking about 2GB VRAM being enough, and I was talking along those lines.
Most 5970s don't have 2GB of VRAM...

7970s are dirt cheap now, hard to beat for the price if looking used.

When my 290x's come in I'd sell you one of mine for the same $120 if you are still looking. I run them at a bit over Ghz edition speeds on stock volts(1100/1500) and even being a few years old I'm sure they can still max pretty much anything at 1080p. Two of them were adequate for 1440p, but the are finally showing their age at 4k so I'm going dual 290x's.

Hmm I might have to take you up on that. I will shoot you a PM. $120 sounds like a fair price. I said no used stuff but being an OCC member makes things a little different.

Only if I can find two of them to run in Quad SLI.

And some do. Regardless, I wasn't talking about 5970 2GB or even a 5970 4GB. I was talking about VRAM in general. I don't know why you decided to bring about details of 5970 2GB VRAM like I don't know.
