neddamttocs Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 This week on OCC Poll we hav a question that was posed by dr_bowtie: Have you ever been satisfied by a pc you have built? I think its a great question, and for me only the last rig i built did i feel satisfied. Let hear what you guys think though!

Munkypoo7 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Voted no. Always have had to skimp somewhere. Even on the tiniest of details. :\

_TheAlexO Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Yeah. Had this build since the day Phenom II came out (3 years already?) and it's been fine. I hate my case though (Antec 300). I've upgraded from a 9800GTX+ > HD4870 > now HD5850 with hopefully a 6950 coming soon. But I'm in need of a complete overhaul. Time to move on to the DDR3 era haha
Muchoman1 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I voted no. after I finished my first build (i5, 5770) and then my second (i7, dual 6970s) I've kept upgrading them, wether it be better cooling, oc, ssd or the like. But ask me this question once my new build is done, and if my answer is the same, lock me up in a nuthouse
luke_warm Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I said yes but only because my last build actually did lol usually after like a week I'm looking at upgrades
Prunes Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I find it hard to answer, since I'm very happy with what my rig performs. But then again it's always possible to get something better. But overall, I'm pleased, so voted yes.
NikoDG Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I votes "Yes" although my build isn't exactly done yet, but when it is it will be beastly
dr_bowtie Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I voted NO.... I have only ever had 1 rig that maybe I was slightly happy with and that was back int he Socket A days with my DFI-LP-B ultra board and rig. Currently since then I have NOT been happy with any rig I have built for myself. even though I have scrutinized over parts they've never really seemed to be the right decisions and the performance has suffered greatly. Every other rig I have built whether for friends and family has been great and most of the time I've just thrown a rig together and its just worked fine and most times better than mine. Case in point.... Last year I decided to rebuild mine and my wifes mATX rigs that we use 24/7 Hers.... AMD Phenom II 965BE running Stock Biostar 890G (or 880g) Mushkin silverline 4x2gb ddr3-1333 Palit 4830 WD black 500gb HD not a slouch of a rig but not top of the line either... been great and it was her first full new upgrade as she came from a Hand-Me-Down AM2 5000X2 My rig.... AMD 1075t 6-core MSI 890GXM-G65 G-Skill 4x2gb ddr3-1600 XFX 5830 WD black 640gb HD now as you can see both fairly decent rigs....but, mines slow...slower than hers Boots slower, opens applications slower and even benches slower. now you might say thats due to clock speed differences but NOPE I can run them same clock for clock and my rig just doesnt cut it. Her rig encodes a much faster than mine with the same optical drive...by nearly half the time...an 5gb DVD takes her 6minutes... me 13 minutes... for me its how slow apps open its just not instant like her rig.. I mean its there really before the botton is finished clicking mine takes a few milli-seconds... not really a big gripe but the last 4 rigs I've built for myself have had less than perfect results... same with my i7-860 rig... her 965BE rig just wipes the floor with it...now just how does that work...? there you have it
