Heck or anything really the IRC is meant to be an extension of the forums so you can chat live there with people who idle there. If you people would bother to stay in I'm sure people would come there to ask questions there just like they used to in the old days. But yeah, IRC would be better for instant responses. You haven't been part of these forums long enough then. The IRC channel used to be used quite a bit, but the forums never died down. And as other have said, IRC isn't really used to ask questions generally. Normally just used to chat with fellow members etc. One thing that is really done on the forums like, "Hey, what's up?
