fire_storm Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 some forums intergrate Flashchat....thats a good idea if you want to use it.... I've always thought that would be a good idea less trouble and easier to use then IRC but I bet it would require the site Admins to do a lot of work to upgrade the forums to allow the feature. Andrewr05 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hold up. Why do we need IRC when we've got a forum? Not that the chat room gets used that often for technical questions (well at least at this point) but when setup properly and easily accessible by anyone on this site (hurry up injijagwalaafq ) it can be used like 24 hour custom service. If and when we integrate it into the site it can cut down on the number of useless threads as new members (or old members) can log into the chat room and ask someone a quick question vs. making a new thread for a simple question. Flibo Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 From previous experience I know that forums seem to die a bit when they start using IRC. But yeah, IRC would be better for instant responses.
