spajdr Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 isnt that too aggresive? i dont have too much good Rams, i got that previously set but then my PC wouldnt boot if i put mems higher then 160Mhz .. so i got MAL 10 and RP 8.
bmorgan98 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Then it might possibly be my audigy 2 zs sound card? cause i disable azilla link + i dont have karajan module plugged in, which i assume disables the onboard audio ?? the sound card is in the pci slot closest to the slave pcie x16 slot. I will remove it later and see if it is the cause. creative drivers can be flakey
Athildja-Px64 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 isnt that too aggresive? i dont have too much good Rams, i got that previously set but then my PC wouldnt boot if i put mems higher then 160Mhz .. so i got MAL 10 and RP 8. So far I have run those on a few different types of RAM, Kingston, Corsair, Geil and now PNY. Try those setting with only one type of RAM in the board and see if perhaps it is the miss matched RAM that you have in your system I think that 10 and 8 and a little loose. I could be wrong but that is the impression that I get.
spajdr Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 crap i got delay to 450 already set .. but i set MAL to 8 and RP to 5.5ns .. hope it will helps (skew to 450 with MAL 10 RP to 8ns didnt helped for sure)
sudrin Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Does anyone having this problem NOT have some version of the Sound Blaster in thier machine? I'm about ready to remove it and try the onboard myself to see if it goes away. Thats not my number one choice, but I need a machine I can trust to run for more than an hour or two without doing this in the middle of PvP in World of Warcraft Edit: I guess I should have said "PCI Sound card of some brand" instead of Sound Blaster. In my day they were ALL Sound Blasters. ;-)
raju Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I don't have a soundcard, I'm using the onbaord sound, I get the issue at times.

spajdr Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 hanging i mean sound is repeating, like when you computer froze when you playing a game .. but for like 10 seconds .. then its ok .. and after another 10 seconds it froze for like 1 second and another hour its ok then it repeats :-) Cats 6.3 Doesnt matter if i play a game, or just surfing with having opened winamp or just burning some dvd, it just hangs for few seconds .. buffer drops to nearly at zero when burning dvd when this happens. WR6X Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 hello guys, i'm all new on the dfi boards. it's running stable when i leave everything on auto. but when i change the timings for my ocz memory (got them from the Prime Stable Database for OCZ memory) it just keeps booting, over and over again. memtest86 reports no errors. Any idea's?
green-man Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 mayb ur still on 1T mate, just an idea. im new 2 dfi 2, and did that myself. so many new, or just labled different settings to what im used 2. think memtest's a good idea , but i prefuer 4 me booting into windows. then doing ram testing ect. + best test i find for overall stability after every else works is, using the most frame ripping game uve got. X3 im using at the mo, if that can run stable, crash,& lockup free. eneythin else i try will. also to go a bit off subject, eney1 noticed when they installed their cpu aircooling setup. did the heatsink totally cover the cpu top?. as mine leaves off the corners.so could lead to damage with a fsb/htt of 300+. its the bottom of the main heatpipe where it mounts, a circle. thus no corners.sounds like a wankie cooler i know. but can load cpu up long as i like, and as soon as i drop it. the temps go stright back to my normal desktop instantly. 47-48c loaded stright to normal desktop 36-37c. or do all ure non-standard air coolers run like this? if not can just get my mate to weld me a cpu sized peace of thin'ish copper under the heat pipe and sort him out £10. as this will stop me worring. or if they all work simular, will just go 4 an artic freezer £15-20.
