Kash Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I may possibly be the only person who has the sense to avoid WoW. I've always viewed it (along with all other MMPORGs) as utterly pointless. I never got into WoW or any other MMO. After seeing all you crazy people, I'm glad I didn't
ClayMeow Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I've never played WoW. I figured I'd get hooked if I tried, so why subject myself to that evil?
Verran Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I've always viewed it (along with all other MMPORGs) as utterly pointless. This is a true statement, if used relatively. No one's going to argue that MMO's are more productive than "going outside and playing with friends" in one form or another, but I find it ironic that MMO's are publicly shunned while sitting on a couch and watching TV is so widely accepted. I mean even completely disregarding the "brain-rot" factor of today's reality-driven TV trash, MMO's still have you interacting with others (often over voice) and strategizing to solve problems. When objectively compared to the way that a lot of people spend their free time, gaming really isn't that bad.

When objectively compared to the way that a lot of people spend their free time, gaming really isn't that bad. WoW is the gaming equivalent of Paris Hilton. Yes, she goes out to clubs and meets other people, but she's contributing absolutely NOTHING to society. You get stuck in a rut with it, it takes over your life, in the same way socialising at clubs does. I do NOT want to have my life taken over by a video game. As a contributing member of society, I have far better things to worry about.

However, moderation is what most MMO'ers seem to have issues with
