jammin Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Another vote for cutting (now that you have already decided anyway). That case looks like it will enjoy it.

dr_bowtie Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 cheapest answer is cut the case or order another one or sell the card...if that ever becomes and option I;d be interested in it so I could finally kick wevsspots butt in benchmarks again by a good margin...lol

Nyt Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Definately cut the case . The 5970 doesnt take no for an answer
Demo3 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Make sure that when you install the new card that it does not short against the frame... A piece of garden hose with a slit cut down the side should work. Just make sure you sling all the water out of it before you install it... it might cause rust to form. gotdamojo06 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 agreed with everyone else, make that SOB fit! who needs more HDD cages? you can always ghetto rig them inside your chassis if you get more HDDs later

Waco Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I do hope you pull everything out of the case before you break out the sawzall.
imm0rt41 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 So did you make it fit? My 6970 barely fit in my case with the bottom hard drive rack removed. Had to undo the SATA cables, close the mobo side of the case, then re-attach the sata cables, but it fits!
IVIYTH0S Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 HUZZAH! Used tin snips instead of sawzall (and yes removed everything, my wire management is even better this time around ) Glad I decided to stick with this beast! Now for the driver flush and 11.3 install! Already loving this card with FORTY less watts at idle!
SpeedCrazy Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Looks ghetto! Just realized, your case looks like the twin of mine. Mine is exactly identical only its white and less modded.
