Andrewr05 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Unfortunately due to a tight budget I think my current system would be the PC that the PSU would go in. I would upgrade the GPU (I'm still on an 8800GTS) Upgrade storage (take out the under 500GB drives and replaces them all with 1TB drives) I think I could live with the same CPU as well, but I suppose I could upgrade that at some point as well. I'm only on a cheapo 500W Antec EarthWatts so this PSU would definitely give me room for some upgrades.

jammin Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hmm, that's a tricky one. I don't really have the money to throw around on new builds, and I did just upgrade my PSU with the thought of upgrading my current rig sometime in the (hopefully) future, so I'm probably least in need of this at the moment. I do quite like the idea of putting together something of a modding project, as I have never really done anything that serious before, so a PSU might be a good excuse to get that underway. I'd want to build my own case (something that has appealed for a while). The other hardware would pretty much have to be whatever I could scrape together, but ideally I'd like it to be along these lines: - Custom built case (I was thinking along the lines of as quiet as possible with some novel material choices, maybe recycled) - XFX 750 Pro Core Edition PSU - Intel 2500K - Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 - XFX HD 6970 Black Edition - Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 - Corsair F120 SSD - 3TB Western Digital Caviar Green Realistic? not really. Would I really like to build it? Yes!
Bizzlenitch Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Specs would be: CPU: Intel Q9550 @ 4.0 GHz GPU: nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P RAM: 4 GB Mushkin 1066 DDR2 HDD: WD Black & Seagate Barracuda Case: CM590 PSU: Why the XFX if I won, of course Sigh, writing this makes me long for a graphics card/monitor upgrade. Although, honestly, this 8800GT has been one of the best GPUs I've ever purchased... it's still going strong after 2+ years, although I am still only using a 19" 1440x900 monitor. MandoPatriot Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I would add another card for Crossfire, and this PSU would allow me to better route my wiring in my HAF-932 case. ir_cow Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) If i could i would sell my MB and CPU to fit this nice new PSU CPU: i7 2600k MB: Gigabyte P67A-UD4 Memory: Mushkin 1600 4x4gb (16gb) Graphics: Nvidia Quadro 2000 HDD (Storage): 2x 500gb PSU: XFX Pro750 Watt Case: Cooer Master HAF 922 I also read a few reviews and since its made by SeaSonic it's 90% the same as the X Gold series with a different case. AMAZING PSU go XFX for outsourcing correctly. Edited February 19, 2011 by hornybluecow
