Old helmet busted... Got a new Shoei RF-1200 in matte black. $480 :(

Lol just goes to Shoei ya...I don't think I'll ever buy a Shoei helmet, I know they're good but they're so frickin' overpriced. And don't be preachin' that "what price can you put on your life", because there's many other great brands that will protect just as well and look just as good for less :P

Arai is even more expensive. A comparable HJC is only cheaper because its crappy quality. I've only had mine since late April and it fell apart.

Yeah, I can't fathom not having a helmet. Even with goggles, I like the enclosed feel (maybe it's just what I'm used to)

Lol you gotta rock the knockoff of HJC called HCI like me  . What fell apart with your HJC, the inner lining? One of my dad's HJCs admittedly has that problem but I'm sure their better ones wouldn't? And yeah, I wasn't saying I'd buy an Arai either just was sayin' there's other fish in the sea. Someone stole my first helmet (HJC) :-/, and I had to ride like 20 minutes home with no helmet or goggles and I HATED it (and that was only at like 40mph)

I also like not getting bugs all over my face when I ride.

The lining, the foam cracked, a vent broke, the paint started chipping, and the retaining clip for the visor broke. Mine was the RPHA-10, their best helmet.

Are you sure an HCI will protect you in a fall...? Those knockoff helmets are notoriously bad.

If you want to save on ink costs laser printers are generally the way to go.  We bought a Wi-Fi Samsung sometime last year and it's still at 90%+ on all colors plus black.

While I would agree with you, as I'm a big fan of laser itself, I'm not looking to spend the money on a color laser printer AIO. My wife likes to print photos here and there for our picture frames around the house, and the upfront cost for a color laser printer that can do it all is a bit steep, lol. It would probably save me money over the long run, but we'll see how it goes. :) Second printer in the last three or four years, as I planned on getting rid of the Dell like a year ago. :P

Lol so true.

Oh damn, sounds like a faulty unit or something. My dad's just had the foam come off and the shit underneath would get in your hair but we stuffed some rags in its place and now its as "safe" as ever  .

And their best helmet according to who, and what made it their "best" helmet?

*shrug* Only one way to find out? It's DOT approved but not Snell certified... now you have me worried :O (one of these). Just checked the Snell website and not one of their helmets have been snell certified...ever lol. They do make a lot of stupid half helmets though...idk

It was, and HJC told me to fuck off. I complained to the BBB, and HJC just screwed around until I got tired of it and gave up. Its their best helmet because its their race model, its the most expensive model, and its the model with the best warranty and comes with the most stuff.

Just so you know, there are DOT helmets that do better than Snell helmets, etc. The BEST way to see how well a helmet will perform is by using this website. http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/

Damn dude, makes me not want to consider them for my next helmet... (I was thinking of maybe getting another and having my old be a passenger's helmet). I still don't get what makes it the best, other than being more expensive and being their "race model" what does that even mean lol. And what kind of best warranty didn't cover the break down of everything that happened :O

Oh so maybe I have a hidden gem then :teehee: , oh well I'll try not to fall on my head...on my 7+ year old tires ;)
