Where can I find the latest drivers online? I googled for the latest ULI drivers thing, is there anything else I need for the chipset? I'm lost.

Also, sometimes I experience short pauses especially while playing music, and the Visualization (in bars mode with foobar) thing is really lagging with the music currently playing.

Just started playing with board and BH-5/UTT BH-5 ram - anyone notice even at 3.4v vdimm ram runs alot hotter on this board than DFI NF4 Ultra-D/SLI-D/SLI-DR series ? I'm talking like TCCD at 3.0v vdimm hot!

2x 512MB OCZ PC3200 Gold UTT BH-5 @255mhz 2-2-2-5 7-14-2223 at 3.4v vdimm

Last night tested without the dual lcd thermal probes and only 2x40mm fans and modules would be scorching hot and test #5 would fail at 2nd to 4th loop with a handful of errors.

Decided to put my dual lcd thermo probe to work and attached it to the side of each of my 2x 512MB OCZ PC3200 Gold UTT BH-5 and use a thermaltake 90+ cfm 120x25mm fan to blow directly on the modules instead of my 2x 40mm fans.

Memtest86+ v1.65

5 loops of test #5 and temps already peak at

Dimm 1 module = 37.5C

Dimm 3 module = 32C

So far up to 90+ loops and no errors unlike last night!

Room temp between = 27.5C to 28.8C open desktop benching system setup.

Conclusion, Dimm 1 slot is a hot bugger and that with even 3.4v vdimm you better have at least 90cfm of fan cooling on your modules to keep memory modules' temps in check for stability!

So I have a setup as in my sig, really nice opty 170 that oc's at 2.8 on stock, so not going to dump it or my RAM, but want to upgrade my MoBo.

But want the following:

1. More PWMIC's as the 3 on this ultra D are running hot even with fans on them.

2. Dual disk RAID (SATA300 Not sure which disks yet)

3. ATI Graphics card as I use the dual screen HydraVision.

4 Good OC'ing MoBo as I think this Opty of mine has much more to offer.

So recommendations please

1. Expert or CFX3200 ?.

2. ATI Graphic card's ? (not really into high performance gaming so don't need top of range, but really need dual Monitor for Hydravision. So a pair of single port cards or one dual port card.)

3. Pair of about 80gb to 160 Gb SATA disks for RAID'ing. (Raptors are just too expensive)

Hello

My 2 raptors are in good health but the system will still lockup for briefly 1-2 seconds and then resume ok and event viewer is reporting both paging error and time out on the uli raid device

"An error was detected on device DeviceHarddisk0D during a paging operation.

"

"The device, DeviceScsim52881, did not respond within the timeout period."

I wonder if the uli raid has a compatibility issue with western digital hard drives?

Is anyone else having issues with the uli raid?

Edit: Maybe i should start fresh raid and change the stripe size from 16 to 64-128k?

I've only had my CFX3200-DR for about ~24hrs but so far results look promising http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=2629 with alot of tips and tweaks from Tony at OCZ it has helped speed up the learning curve - which is very steep due to the amount of bios settings to tweak!

i.e. 2x 512MB Corsair XMS3500C2v1.1 BH-5

OCZ Tony said there's some kind of issue with the ULi controller and RAID, he suspects driving strength is to blame (to the controller). I don't think there is a fix ATM, but I believe running the RAID on the 3114 controller, although less attractive, is doable in the meantime.

Ahh thanks Mate Thought that it might be memory related but all my timmings are in manual with safe timmings very stable primed for 11.5 hrs and memtested for 29 passes, i'll try the sil image later.

thanks

the only problem I have had with RAID is using the Hitachi Feature Tool to enable SATA II features on my drives

other than that, RAID-0 with 2x80GB SATA II drives works like a charm

I'll be posting up a help/tut when I get around to it

if your RAID is timing out, and you have the latest bios, then you probably have some instability as I have built RAID-0 on 4 different 2GB kits of memory and zero problems.
