Guest laydback Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Got two new 146s today, CAB2E 0540FPMW, gonna pop the top in a few minutes. Might lap my waterblock first.
Pyr0 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 How in the hell are you getting 2.8 at stock volts? Good lord, I can barely manage that at 1.56v. Arg, I feel so helpless. the new CABNE 0545 BPMW chips can do 2.8 at stock volts too
ixtapalapaquetl Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Please post a list of your BIOS settings (mem timing & volts). You know I got your back! I'm going to need some more time though. While I am 8 hour prime stable at 3.1GHz (small FFT), I still have a long way to go memory wise. Not even close to stable yet. When I have some usable info, I'll pass it on. Getting the CPU clocked is the easy part - memory takes a lot more work.EDIT: What cooling on that ix?.XP-
Guest laydback Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Got two new 146s today, CAB2E 0540FPMW, gonna pop the top in a few minutes. Might lap my waterblock first. This chip rocks, my CABYE failed prime instantly at 3ghz but is prime stable at 2.9ghz but it wanted 1.65vcore. With my new CAB2E im currently priming at 3ghz with only 1.5vcore!!!!! Im glad I bought 2 of em. Anyone wanna buy my CABYE? =P
decptt Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 ixt: If you didn't modify Tornado (I mean if you use regular fan), I want to ask you about OPT 175 (297x10) -> What temperature for the CPU?? (I am thinking of XP90 for buying) What do you think between OPTY 170 vs. 175? Any different for o/c? Last question: What different of OSA170CDBOX version and OSA170DAA6CD ? Is Box version differnt from tray version? (what I know (maybe wrong) is only Fan included, isn't it?)
soundx98 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Fan and HEATSINK are included with boxed (retail) edition. 3 year warranty. OEM/Tray versions are chip only and usually supplied with a 15-30 day warranty. Don't assume steppings will be the same either. Can be totally different. Craptacular Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 OEM/Tray versions are chip only and usually supplied with a 15-30 day warranty. The OEM version comes with a 1 year warranty according to AMD's product page: AMD Opteron Processor 170 OEM product page
