    Unofficial Opteron 939 Thread

    --Before RMA (if you have information/data that need to backup-- About HDD[Western Digital 160GB IDE-100], I had this problem before. Before I formatted it, I had used "Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS (CD)" to repair/check my HDD After formatted, I used "EasyRecovery" to recover my data. It could recover around 95% of all my data.

My new ram is 2GB (2x1GB) OCZ5002048ELGEGXT-K I run memtest (by mainboard) v1.65 @270 (DDR540) I can't pass test 5 (at 3rd test, 4th test) when I set vdimm over 2.90 However if I set 2.82v for vdimm, it pass (I ran the default test around 5 times--all passed) Can anyone explain? I am confused. Why can't I set ram over 2.8 for running faster?

    I think your stepping is the same as mine. I have this info for you I ran at 10x262 1.525v 102% vdimm 2.8 (1:1) LDT 1.4 Chip 1.72 at 2 x Prime95 (using ram 950MB). One of Primes failed at 28 hrs 14 minutes And I has tested @2700 (10x270 or 245x11), Longest Prime95 failed at 9 hrs (1.55v x 102%) I might have a poor o/c potential :sad:

One of Primes failed at 28 hrs 14 minutes What do you think? if you are a gamer and not run computer more than 8 hours. I think you ran 24 hrs would be enough. To me, I want to run my computer 24/7, I probably make sure that it could ran Prime95 over 48 hrs for stable [ I think this would be my opinion ] My 3200+, I had tested for 48 hours before I have been using it.

    For whom who think 8 hrs stable is enough My Opty 175 can't be stable after 9th hour. (10x265) in Prime95 (around 9hrs 23 mins) Now I am running 262x10 1.525v 102% for 24hrs of Prime95 (each core using 920MB for testing) If ya wanna test Prime95, I suggest you test it for 24 hrs to make sure that's stable I got an error after 9th in Prime95 :drool: So sad that my Opty 175 has poor o/c potential. :sad: I will put my sig after I found the stable rig.   15. I have a question about "RUN IN" simply question: Should CPU be "run in"? and if yes, HOW?? If a overclocker get a new CPU, should he/she burn it in a stock speed and stock voltage before overclock? how long for run in (8 hrs-48 hrs??? not ZERO HR: just clock it MAX then decrease it until stable)
