well thats lame, I can't create a BFBC2 steam event since i didn't purchase it through steam (even tho i added the game to My Games)

 

i created an xfire event tho, scheduled for 10pm cst

How to add a server to favorites manually:

The built-in function to add a server to favorites may not always work. So, I found a work-a-round to add those servers if you have played on them.

 

Here is how you do it:

1) Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\BFBC2\ and open GameSettings.ini in a text editor

2) Search for two keywords: FavoriteGames and RecentGames.

3) In the RecentGames section search for the server you were playing on and copy and paste it's string into the FavoriteGames.

 

Example: I was playing on a XYZ server. I do the steps above and start to look for that specific Server's string.

 

55,55-55-55-55-55, XYZ Server; (not a real server and a real server string is longer)

 

NOTE: All the servers strings are presented in this format (if not similar) #, #-#-#-#-#, Server Name; (that includes the commas, dashes, and semi-colon, which tells you its the end of the server string)

 

So I copy and paste 55,55-55-55-55-55, XYZ Server; to the end of my FavoriteGames line.

 

Before: FavoriteGames=99,99-99-99-99-99, 9ers Server;

 

After: FavoriteGames=99,99-99-99-99-99, 9ers Server;55,55-55-55-55-55, XYZ Server;

Those who don't have Xfire or any desire to use Xfire can still join in the fun though? Or will the server details and such only be communicated through Xfire?

 

I should be done hanging with some friends by than, I can try to be on and be the obligatory newb to help people pad their stats ...like those looking to get their knife kills and such.

I don't touch xfire.....just add one of the guys that are on the first page of this thread to your friends list in BC2 and we will hook ya up.
