DuTcH Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 that aint real carbon fiber thats "3m style" vinyl, right? They support it for the most part, because they know it will potentially lead to other things. But when I told them I wanted to spend $800 on two computer monitors, they just about went nuts. My dad is a business owner, so he doesnt like to see me excessively spending money. But he does it to, so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm 28, married and livin 300 mile from my mum and she still manages to have a go at what spend on components, lol
ReelFiles Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Thanks Doc, here's some links for the film I used This stuff is cheap and easy to use You can use these directions for application, the products are different, but the method used is similar; http://www.polygfx.com/video.php http://www.mnpctech.com/CarbonFiber.html http://www.mnpctech.com/DiamondPlateFilm.html http://www.mnpctech.com/BrushedChromeFilm.html http://www.mnpctech.com/Engine_Turned_Vinyl_Film.html Alternately FrozenCPU.com offers a more pricey product, but it's one custom cut piece to cover the "entire" case seamlessly; http://www.frozencpu.com/products/3604/skn..._Case_Skin.html that aint real carbon fiber thats "3m style" vinyl, right? It's a film similar to window tinting.

ReelFiles Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Mini drawer "cabinet" found in the trash Clean it up, slap in some old PIII m-ATX board, PSU, spare IDE drives, NIC and 768MB PC133.
DuTcH Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 nice find, im not even gonna ask what you were doin in the trash! lol would make an interesting small rack mounted server on the carbon fibre issue I had some thoughts about using some cf in my case designs mainly for its lightweight properties and its capability of withstanding extreme temps
ReelFiles Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 It was my mother-in-law throwing it out, it's not like I am digging through other people's trash. LOL If I move the PSU out I can fit another mobo in there or even 3 total, just gotta move the drives out as well. There's plenty of room on the top tier for that stuff. EllisD Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Well, this weekend i got my new Stacker 830 (got the Black version) so i took the camera from work to take a few shots of it. Now that i look at half the pics i took, they all turned out like shat (damn me and my shakey hands, lol) Here is a before: I sold my case to a friend of mine so i had my rig running like this for a while Most of the Build shots were waaaaay too blurry, so i guess when i do some cable management (just kinda tossed it all together, i like rebuilding anyways) i will take better pics. Anyways, here is a shot with the door open: And here is a Glowing shot....got 4 x 120mm Blue Coolermaster Fans in there, plus the one black stock one: And last but not least, a final shot of my desk: That what i got for now
