kingdingeling Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 DAMN, now THAT'S some awesome memory you got there! You thought of doing some 700MHz RAM / >4GHz E8400 action yet?
necron66 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 DAMN, now THAT'S some awesome memory you got there! You thought of doing some 700MHz RAM / >4GHz E8400 action yet? It all daepends on what dividers I have avalible at a given FSB. I've been trying to get 4.6 stable for super pi 1M on a Zalman 9700 which isn't easy on a DS3P, so using a 5:6 divider for 618mhz takes any ram problems out while I sort the cpu speeds. It was just as hard to get a 700mhz pi run from the ram as it is to have a 4.6ghz cpu for the 1M runs. 45nm CPU @ 1.65v with ram @ 2.6v on a only semi decant board isn't much fun. kingdingeling Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 2.6v on the RAM?! Alright, my old GeIL sticks woulda done 700MHz with that sorta voltage as well

road-runner Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I guess you got it sorted out there RR Yea I am working on it, this chip takes a lot of volts to get it to do anything. I was at the 1.6 setting in the bios to get almost 4.5Ghz. The next step up from 1.6 is 1.65 on my MB and I did not want to go that high yet. Maybe latter... razor Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 new suicide - 3963 mhz, on air this chip absolutely will not go over 440 FSB. it'll boot @ 440, but absoultely nothing is stable...I guess I shouldnt be complaining, but 4000 mhz would be nice - at least once EDIT - forgot to include cooling method
