Hyper Threaded Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Anything BMW, it will ride like a Corvette. Very stiff and uncomfortable, even worse with the sport-suspension. This is because BMW thinks an SUV should handle like a sport sedan. The X3/X5 are serious fun, though. Depending on how much he wants to spend, I would either get a Nissan Pathfinder or a Volvo XC90. Land Rover Discoveries are great too, they'll go over almost anything.

Desktop-pro Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 if you want a sport SUV get a porsche cayanne turbo, if you want somthing very practical not quite as sporty but off-roads better get a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Porsche Cayanne

Some people think that SUVs are only good at two things, hauling and off-roading. Porsche adds something else, performance.

Porsche Cayanne I would actually be willing to bet that the Porsche off roads better, especially with the air suspension and electronically disconnecting antisway bars. (if you even know what those are, and since you're 16, i doubt it) All it needs are different tires and watch out. Plus, the Cayenne Turbo is a $90+ SUV so its kinda pricey, but if you gave us a price range that he wants to spend, it would make it alot easier. Ziggy54354 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 who said anything about me being 16? Anyways were in the 50k Range and heres a few things about my dad The car will be used for work and sometimes long 2 hour trips to casinos. he does alot of delivering so hell be driving quite a bit, must be comfortable. He never.. i repeat NEVER washes the car. I don't think ive ever seen him wash a car before so something too classy wont do us any good because itll end up looking like crap within weeks. I dont think he really enjoys aggressive driving either. He just gets from point a to point b without doing anything fancy like chirping tires after coming out of a stop. I think he's still geared towards the aviator but ill try and talk him into the volvo as thats would be my favorite if i were him.
