scr4wl Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Zcash is a gpu mineable coin that uses the equihash algorithm. One of the main differences from bitcoin is that it lets you do shielded (hidden) transactions, although most transactions on the network are transparent. https://z.cash/
ir_cow Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Anyone else having Passkey issues? The last 2 days It hasn't been giving me the bonus, or just nothing at all. I reinstalled Folding@home which didn't help. So I asked for a new passkey. Which sucks because that's 10 WU without a Bonus.... scr4wl Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 No passkey issues that I've noticed, although I'm only doing 3.3mil ppd on the 4 1080tis so maybe. (I kind of just assume i'm taking a performance hit from using risers) Anyone know how the 1080 does at folding in comparison to the 1080ti? I want to get another card and the $550 price tag looks a lot more friendly then $700.

scr4wl Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) That is a surprising difference between the 1080 and 1080ti. Basically 30% more performance for an extra 21% of cost. Edited July 19, 2017 by scr4wl

None are overclocked, the 1080 are FE the first to hit newegg Asus I think not sure of clocks
ir_cow Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 After a passkey reset and 10 WU, It looks like i'm back on track. Not sure what happened... Also you would know if you had a issue, instead of 3 or 4mil you would be getting 100k scr4wl. As for PPD, Even overclocked, it seems certain WU only project 800K, than you get a few easy ones and It jumps to 1.3Mil. Averages 1mil PPD. cchalogamer Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Well, I finally swapped some stuff over to Folding instead of mining. Crazy thing is I still have something somewhere folding (and has been for a long time) under my username that's keeping me both in the #5 and #18 spot for the OCC top 20 producers. I need to look into what OC matters more for Folding. I know with mining GPU memory OC made a bigger hashrate change than core clocks. For now I have my wife's 1070 and my 1080 Ti folding and my old 1080 and the 1070 I picked up cheap just before the mining craze took off letting Nicehash do it's thing. I may swap some things around depending on what the folding payout looks like at the end of the month, currently the Nicehash stuff is making a little over $30 a week so still plenty profit potential for them after power (and they live in the basement where I'm not paying for air conditioning to keep them cool)
ir_cow Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 IDK, I haven't seem a big difference in PPD with a OC. Stock runs around 1860mhz and 1990mhz OCed. Still average 1mill PPD with or without a OC, as long as the fan profile is set to aggressive or the core drops to 1600mhz from running at 85c all day. ccokeman Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 My 1080 is averaging in the 630 to 660K range depending on WU.
road-runner Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 My 1080 is averaging in the 630 to 660K range depending on WU. 1070s seem to do just about as good as the 1080s. If I was buying cards depending on the budget I would get 1070s or 1080ti
scr4wl Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 1070s seem to do just about as good as the 1080s. If I was buying cards depending on the budget I would get 1070s or 1080ti I would agree, except that now the 1070 is basically the same price as the 1080.., in some cases 1070s are actually more then 1080s. Crazy! I'm torn between buying more cards now or waiting to see if RX Vega causes prices to drop a little bit.
