Braegnok Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) I just loaded the 64-bit enterprise technical preview via the iso image on my old workstation that had windows 2000 server on it,.. the Win 10 enterprise is a lot smoother/faster ,.. I'll see if I can crash something,.. Thought it was funny the Feedback app has glitches,.. the app page search bar covers the close button at right top of screen,.. thus your unable to close app store screen,.. then after adding feedback app it would not stay open when clicked on,.. app would just flash on screen and show as open in lower tool bar,.. you could close app using small box that appears when you mouse over lower tool bar but app would not open. Since fixing these glitches I'v had several crash errors and hardware incompatibility issues just trying to install basic must have software/hardware,.. Windows responds quickly with message saying "were working on an update",.. Edited October 8, 2014 by Braegnok

Braegnok Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) Loading AMD Catalyst 14-9 using auto-detect,.. install manager lists OS as windows 8.1 64-bit,.. so seems using 8.1 as operating system for manually installed drives till 10 is an option works. found the Advanced Power Options,.. just click the start button, type "control panel" and the good old windows 7 control panel opens. Braegnok Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) After joining Windows Insider program and installing W10TP,.. you can also join DirectX Early Access program and run DirectX-12 including updated runtime, API headers, drivers, documentation, and samples, all of which will work with Windows 10 Technical Preview,.. also you need to subscribe to Unreal Engine 4 to receive source access to the DX12 port of UE4,.. https://onedrive.live.com/survey?resid=A4B88088C01D9E9A!107&authkey=!AFgbVA2sYbeoepQ Edited October 8, 2014 by Braegnok

Was the control panel meant to be removed? O.o Cause it's in 8.1 too

ClayMeow Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 The reason why they skipped their Windows numbering to 10 : For some programs, it would appear as Windows 95 or 98 !! No, it's because Windows 7 ate(8) 9, duh!
DanTheGamer11 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 (edited) How are the virtual desktops? Smooth etc? Might move over to this from W8.1 since it'd be good to have a study, general usage and gaming desktop Edited October 4, 2014 by DanTheGamer11

red454 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Got 10 installed on a separate SSD. Some of the MSI drivers for the Z87 GD-65 were hit and miss, worst one being for the Ethernet controller and I had to get it from the Qualcomm website, but now it all works. No other issues so far... Crow47 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Looking forward to testing this pretty thoroughly later on tomorrow. I'm going to install it on my laptop so I can see how they've adjusted the touch features.
