Stonerboy779 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Haha yeah mobile Kepler is retardily fast. If you think the GT 650M is crazy, check out the GTX 680M. It's pretty much a GTX 670 underclocked with 4GB of memory. It's crazy b/c I get P3100+ on 3DMark and I only draw about 100W max from the wall. I got my laptop nearly a year ago and the 6770m was absolutely sweet for performance and price and now recently the kepler laptops have been coming at roughly the same price points for the 650m that I got my 6770m. Provided you look and wait for the specials. I knew they where better but i didn't realize that one generation of mobile GPUs would jump so ridiculously far ahead. It is almost very tempting to sell my laptop invest another $200 and get double the graphics performance.

I've been thinking about getting a MXM based laptop in the future if I ever replace the one I have now. Pros: - Less heat - Silent while light work load, a little noisy while gaming (but nothing like a GTX or HD card going 100%) - Easy maintenance - Space saver - Detachable and mobile while still retaining the power Cons: - Limited upgrading options compared custom desktops (unless you have the higher end, more bulky MXM GPU laptops)
