Phixious Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 what's up guys... Just recently got this beast and just started by setting the base clock to 150, so now it's running at 3.15GHz. But it's getting a bit hot I think, 72-
Zertz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 The Corsair H50 isn't that good. Prolimatech Megahalem, Thermalright TRUE and Noctua NH-U12P are pretty much the top 3 heatsinks available

Prolimatech Megahalem, Thermalright TRUE and Noctua NH-U12P are pretty much the top 3 heatsinks available thx The Megahalem is looking pretty good, think I might go for that. It comes fanless though right? I was thinking maybe strapping a couple of Kaze Jyuni fans on it, should be good.
ccokeman Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 If you have the room in your carse the Noctua NH-D14 looks very promising

premiumgfx Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 From what I've heard the Prolimatech Megahalems or Megashadow are good, especially with a dual fan configuration.
saintbodhisatva Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Hi, Id go for the Prolimatechs too, the Noctua NH-D14 is I think the top cooling solution now - beating the Prolimatechs by about 2C, but its really very huge! They cost about the same though since the D14 includes 2 fans already whereas the Prolimatechs come without.
guyrichi247 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 From what I have heard megahalems are about the best and a decent price. I use the CM V8 I love it, it looks awesome and keeps my i7 920 to ~60 under load at 3.8GHz (after i bought some decent TIM and applied it correctly ) There are only reallya couple of degree difference between the top coolers and depends on how well you set the h/sink and your ambient temps. I have my window open all the time as it drops temps by 5C
xchrissypoox Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Get a True 120 and put 1 fan on it and let the back exhaust and/or top exhaust do the rest.
