Hi im sort of a noob to these forums but i really needed some opinions on my future i7 build a litttle around $1800 and any improvements you think i could make.

i know its a long list. (keep in mind i tried to design this for good cooling to overclock my processor). update: changed DVD burner and graphics card to something more suited to your comments (i think)

I would get an Xigamatek S1283-hdt. but make sure you get the crossbow. as5 too. that'll run you about 40

thanks for the advice. i found the cooler and i still have yet to read reviews but i didnt know what you ment by the crossbow.

I'd recommend a PC P&C Silencer 750W PSU over what you listed.

hmm, the thing is im hoping to sli another 285 or two so i was thinking i wanted an affordable modular psu that had atleast 850w, but for a 750w i agree with you.

The only thing I can chime in beyond the posts above, is...

 

Do yourself a favor and get a SATA DVD burner!! The Toshiba/Samsung (TSST) or LG ones are very good.

I would save yourself some money and get the gtx275... When overclocked it's practically as fast as the 285, but cost 100 less

good point, i posted the 285 because it was my backup option but mostt probable. if it ever releases as advertised i would get the evga gtx 275 with double memory.

I guess if you're looking to run tri-SLI 285s, that might need some more juice with the i7 in there too. Look at this tiered PSU list for some guidance.
