Xtreme21 Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 (edited) OK i recenlty fired my mobo trying to push my barton 2500+ to 3.0ghz in which i was succesfull until the crap chipset fried because the chipset HSF fried. Soo.. I was wondering if i got a P4 2.4c and OCed it to 3.0Ghz+ versus OCing a 2500+ Barton to 3200+ speeds which would be better. the intel or amd and keep in mind im heading towards a GAMING MONSTER..... Well it was late at night and i was tired as hell and after looking at other peoples OC's i forgot that i was still on AIR cooling... i got 2 (14.5x203) before evrything went haywire.... O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Well, the Intel would have lower temps, but both are good IMO.
AYoKoNA Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Ocing from 2.4c to 3.0g will not make a significance that you will notice in "gaming". same for the 2500 to 3200. What video card are u going to use is the question?
justinal Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 from what the screen savers says if you have a 2ghz computer you good to go for any game at the highest res after you have that its all about the card

Iggy Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Get a new mobo with that 2500+, put really good cooling on the chipset, and o/c it to 3 ghz again. That will blow an o/c'ed p4 away any day.
AYoKoNA Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 (edited) That will blow an o/c'ed p4 away any day. I beg to differ but lets not turn this into that kind of post Edited December 9, 2003 by AYoKoNA
C0DE Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 (edited) I beg to differ but lets not turn this into that kind of post ofcourese a barton at 3.0ghz will murder a p4c @ 3.8 atleast. anyways i call bull crap... i have never heard of a AMD at 3.0ghz on air thats just impossible. anyways BS stands until u link us or post some benchies at those speeds or something.. and dont say u dont cause anyone with an AMD @3.0ghz will run benchies and take mad screen pics.. *edit* but if it is at 2940mhz that is awesome and ofcourse it will fry on air.
