Rehit Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 i do not need all that voltage until i get past 4.6 ghz. i can get to 4.6 with about 1.3 but need the voltage to make it thru a 3D Mark 06 run at 4.8 ghz. it may be the fact that i am running it on a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L. not the best MB for overclocking options in the BIOS. i cannot even set the ram voltage to 2.2 until i get into windows... i may put it into the Maximus Formula at some point to see if i can get the voltage down and get to 5 ghz. kitfit1 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) Ok folks, just posted this in the OCDB. Going to be trying hard now to get it to 5.2ghz. However it might not be quite as easy as i first thought it would be. The heat being generated by this cpu is a bit of a problem, even under phase. So in the long run i'm not sure it will be possible.
