Cuttlefish1212 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I run 1024x768 @ 85Hz but the monitor will do 1280x1024 @ 85Hz. However, I'm getting a new CRT monitor for more intense gaming...a nice NEC which will run 1600x1200 @ 85 Hz. I haven't switched to LCD...mainly because to run decent resolutions at 75Hz or better, you've got to fork over mad cash...not worth it in my opinion. CharmedLover84 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 What's the big with 75Hz though? 'less you play games with VSync on, then I understand.
Cuttlefish1212 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Easier on the eyes. I spend lots of time in front of a monitor and over the years I've discovered that anything less than 75Hz causes discomfort. I prefer 85-100Hz...very soft, warm picture with sharp resolutions. Guest r3d c0m3t Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Always running on 720p on the same crappy 16-incher, which sort of negates any HD premise. It's funny I have a DFI super-toaster, yet I don't have a new monitor...irony always seems to work it's way in there somehow.

aelfwyne Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 1400x1050 on a Sony Trinitron 21" CRT. I would go LCD, but I just love my Trinitron too damn much. As long as I never have to move it. I run the odd resolution because 1600x1200 is just too small for surfing the net, and 1280x1024 is just too big.
