PlummetingFool Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 1280*1024 on my Gateway 17'' EV700. Still going strong, I just wish it didn't weigh 75 pounds for the LAN parties.

greatscott68 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 1600x1200. Seemed tiny at first, but jus tlike when I changed from 1024, 1152, etc. - your eyes adjust to it. Now 1280 seems huge.

Praz Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The results are kind of surprising. I thought they would have been more evenly divided between 1280 and 1600

AKHandyman Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I used to have a 21" Sony CRT Trinitron-boat anchor,(still have it, anyone want to buy it?) and that was run@1280x1024. My two flat screens-19" (reg screen) is running @1280x1024) and the 22" (widescreen) is @1680x1050. Seems like they are fine for these tired old-man eyes. Still have to use my cheaters though, ...
Angry_Games Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The results are kind of surprising. I thought they would have been more evenly divided between 1280 and 1600 sorta proves my theory of what is 'normal' vs what readers here perceive as 'normal' (ie that whole 60% to 75% thing I always harp on) if you were to ask regular joes around here, they'd all think 1600x1200 or 1920x1200 would be the majority...when I knew better than that. Got to say I wasn't a bit surprised that 1280x1024 was the most popular. I've ran that resolution for many years, as that is the max a cheapo CRT 19" will do, and is the max that a 19" LCD will do, and those are the most popular monitor sizes (oh and 17", which will only do 1280x1024)
