Onboard LAN and Microphone Input Problems
omarwashington replied to Rzaa's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
Did you try to reset your modem? Try turning off the modem for about 1 min. While its off there should be a small little button in the back of the modem, u'll need a pencel of some sort to push that button which is the reset button for the modem. -

I had a similar problem with the mic. I turned up the volume recording for the mic. Try this start>control panel>sounds and audio devices. click on the voice tab then volume and turn up the volume on recording see if it works. To see if it works you can try Sound Recorder in Entertainment -
good stuff SoundX alot of good advice...well depends on how you use it.

Was wanting a WD but I got a seagate for free. We'll "sea" how things go. Seagate always reminds me of that show Seaquest. -

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824116375 This is the one i'm looking at. The question I have is if I should get Net Replacement Plan or Net Peripheral Extended Plan or none at all. If anyone has any experience with this it would be very helpful. Thank you

ESD Electrostatic discharge question
omarwashington replied to omarwashington's topic in OCC Member's Lounge
Thanks for the reply guys. I'll be using a static wrist-strap when I"m going to be installing items. -
So I asked a friend about this and he told me that I shouldn't worry about it because hardware nowadays is becoming better in handling ESD. How concerned should I be when I start to put all my hardware together? Sorry for being so noobish but I just what to hear what you people think.

Thankyou for the reply. The audio cable is about 19" and I just need about 1/2" just to connect it. Do you think that if I cut the zip tie that is around the individual pin connectors and connect then onto the audio that they will work?
