WinSMP, using anything else is greek to me:p

Running an average of 25.5min per %, thats not too bad I assume? Hopefully onve I get my w/c up, I can jump from my summer o/c of 2.25 back up to my highest of 2.7 - which I stopped at because of temps.

That's great J. :) We really need more people like you running SMP folding clients. The Win SMP client is really a no brainier. Just get the rig stable, install .net, then the Win SMP client and bam you’re on your way folding. It works pretty well.

I really wish more would join the folding team. Hope in finding a cure is a great thing. We had some heavy folders at one point. I don't know what happened to them all.

Later and thanks for helping out.

Damn you got a lot of points, tasr. How long you been folding for?
Well, less than a year. My current rate I should break 1 million before my anniversary date.

I bet the scientists at Stanford are happy with my workload. It’s really not a one man job but everybody pulling together.

How’s your SMP rig doing Reel?

That's a lot of work in less than a year, nice.

Well like an idiot I reinstalled Vista on that rig, thinking it might be actually usable with the latest updates, but of course I went back to XP within 3 days, lol. Besides all the artifacts I was seeing when playing videos on my TV, the SMP client wasn't able to install as a service and was randomly freezing up.

I just reinstalled the SMP client on it last night, but something is not right

I see mpiexec.exe at ca 14-22% and only one instance of fah.exe at 0% running but for some reason csrss.exe is running at 6-13%, which seems odd. It says it's working, but didn't do anything and I had it running all of last night.

I read that I should try to disable my LAN connection and restart the service. When I did that I didn't get that error again, but CPU load is still down. I am going to reinstall the client and see if I missed a step or something.

Edit

Seems that it won't run correctly as a service, but if I start fah.exe manually it loads up just fine, four instances of FahCore_a1.exe loading my CPU to 100%, and csrss.exe is back down to 0-1%, the only downfall is that I have to keep that terminal window open :(

Yeah, I ended up reading the ReadMe, saw the servce bug in there too. I am thinking that I can start fah.exe with task scheduler at startup then I just need something to either hide the command window or minimize it to the tray. That would actually be pretty cool because I could just open it from the tray and check it's progress.

Edit:

Heh, it works flawlessly with the freeware app TrayIt! 4.6.5, which you can find here:

http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm

I just scheduled fah.exe to run at startup, unchecked 'stop this task from running if it runs longer than...' and set TraIt run at logon and to minimize the app on startup ;)

SMp in linux works flawless, just that it doesnt support 32 bit.

Its just to make 2 copies of the fah, and run the seperatly, they automaticly works on both cores, or you can use other applications, and daemons to select what cpu any service should run at :)

my workforce is now a duron 1200 amd 64 3000+ amd 64 x2 4400+ :)
