Tivot Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I tested my rails as per this thread: http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/show...ad.php?t=137886 I have a PowerStream 520 as in my signature. I measured the rails with a Fluke multimeter. Here are my results: ------------------3.3v--------5v--------12v Post-----------3.295------5.09-------12.22 Boot-----------3.293------5.09-------12.22 Startup-------3.294------5.09-------12.22 Idle------------3.294-----5.09--------12.22 Load----------3.289------5.08-------12.21 Shutdown---3.293------5.09--------12.21 My question is, are these good results? Since the powerstream has adjustable rails should I adjust them to get results that are closer to what they should be? Ie, should I up the 3.3 a tad, down the 5 a tad, and down the 12 a little bit? Or, are these good results and I should leave well enough alone?

Tivot Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Great, I will do it. Is it recommended to change this voltage while the system is running? Or should I make the adjustment, turn on the computer, take a reading, shutdown, adjust as neccessary, etc?

davidhammock200 Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Has anyone here had experience with the Antec Phantom 500W?For proven results, stick to the "A" list!
jermaink Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Yeah, but has anyone tried a Antec Phantom 500W PSU with their DFI NF4 motherboard? Most of the recommended PSU's are pretty loud (compared to the quietest ones). Seasonic S12's are only available from 1 retailer in Australia (also not 'A' list), and the Phantom 500W PSU's are pretty available and are similar in price in Australia compared to what they sell for in the US. But I'd like to know whether there have been any problems with it (or no problems at all) with DFI NF4 motherboards.

Rattle Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm looking to build a performance/affordable machine for a client. System specs DFI UT Ulta-D Venice 3000+ evga 6600gt OCZ 2X512 pc3200 Plats 1 Hitachi 80gb Deskstar Sata 1 Sony Dvd Rom four 80mm fans stock CPU H/S maybe a sound card. Anyway I'm looking at these 2 PSU's, they seem to meet or excede the minimum as described for this board. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16817148008 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16817182009 these seem to be the only 2 capable PSU's around $50 and getting a $100 PSU would throw us out of budget. Honest opinions would be aprreciated good or bad. I feel confident they should be more than sufficent, I just dont see anyone using them and they are not spoken of in this thread.
