Actually, those numbers look about right. You're only off the theoretical by about 10% so you should feel good about it....

Start saving your lunch money now so you can get the second drive by the time you need to do a clean install.

Thanks ExRoadie. :)

It's the same with a RAID-0 array. You don't get exactly twice the performance because you have two drives.

but dude, isnt the new Raptor150s SATA2? my WD250Gb SATA2 is posting a burst around 175Mb/s......

and his average are in the 70's MB/s. My average is about 90Mb/s.

how could a fat single-drive WD2500KS 250Gb SATAII/3.0 w/ 16mb cache beat the crap of the brand-new Raptors150 wit 10,000rpm???

^ Maybe I should install the Nvidia IDE SW driver? Gurus here say not to install it if I'm not running RAID, but maybe it will make a difference. Right now I'm pretty sure Windows sees my Raptor as an IDE drive.

I would need to image my hard drive first in case it messes something up. I've read a few horror stories about this driver, but that was a little while ago.

Probably your cluster size, i would have used a 16k stripe and a 4k cluster.

Already tried that.. I/O meter And ATTO. Both show a improvement when the third drive is added.. Only HD TACH Shows that it is actualy slower
