Hello everyone! Today i got bored, and put together a gpu cooler from an old socket 775 cooler(manufacture unknown). I mounted it in a very bootleg manner, resting it at the bottom of the case, and shoving crap underneath till it made contact with the GPU core! Here are some pictures. My graphics card is an 8500 GT 256 mb , and I now can overclock the core+memory clock by 150 MHz and remain at 30-40*C idle, and 50*C load! I hope to be known on this community as the bootleg modder :)

I have no words for that...it takes every ghetto mod I've seen and done and slaps it across the face. Congratulations, you've just now aimed lower than any man before you ever has. Lets hope, for civilizations sake, that no one ever bests you.

But seriously, throw some cable ties or something on that...one gentle bump to the case and your graphics card goes up like the Hindenburg...

Edit: King, it's time to give up your custom title.

 That's true though, if you have nothing to hold it properly, that's a very dangerous mod! Also the flexing of the PCB is not that good

NO! I shall not give up the title.... ever! Seeing as how Puck did a ghetto mod like this ages ago on his 9800Pro (2nd in the whole 3D mark ranking I believe?), he has first dibs, if at all :P

Third :P Mine actually had a backplate though!

I dont suggest running that 24/7. Besides having the PCB bent, without being physically attached all it takes is one nudge to loose 100% contact on the core and that card will be toast :(

Pretty unique idea though, points for creativity! Find a way to mod it on there securely, then volt mod it and let the real overclocking begin :)
