neddamttocs Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) For anyone who took part last year, the Forum Wars competition will be familiar. It is hosted by the Raptor Pit Forums and this will be the third year it has run. There is more detailed information from TRP: What is Forum Wars??? Forum Wars is an overclocking competition between forums. Each forum builds it's team from it's members. There are 4 man teams in the main competition. Each Player/Entry must endure running 6 (stock) benchmark tests just to enter. Then post the scores in your forums "Forum Wars 2007 Official Scores" thread. The "Forum Wars Police" will verify all the scores from all the forums and enter them into the Database. After 3 weeks of Player entries, The forums spend a week choosing team names, team rosters and plan stratagy. Then we go to WAR!!! (for 3 weeks) Overclocking our Rigs to the max and posting New Scores. The catagories are... "Ultra Extreme (UE)" Unlimited Cooling, Engineering Samples, Ect... "A Teams" (Forums Top 4 players) "B Teams" (4 players) "C Teams" (4 players) "D Teams" (4 players) "E Teams" (4 players) "F Teams" (4 players)(overflow teams... not counted in the overall Rankings) Overall Rank... is the overall winner of the TEAM Competition based on the rankings of the team groupings. Forum Wars Rules GEIL USA MEMORY will sponsor this event. Abit will be a major Sponsor as well... You can enter yourself for the OCC team HERE (not open at this time) Scoring will take place in This Thread. Any questions or discussion can now be kept to this thread. You may also find members from the other forums competing popping up in here for some friendly banter wink.gif I also encourage any friendly taunting on the other forums taking part laugh.gif It'll help to get that competition atmosphere going. NEW: OCForums has put up a podcast about last years Forum Wars!!! Click HERE to Listen !!! Comp Dude2 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Is this competition basically judged on the difference between your stock score and your overclocked score? i dont get how they make it fair for faster and slower rig's
kingdingeling Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 What do you mean Comp_Dude? There are different teams, which have different performance levels of PC, depending on what sort of hardware the forum users have. It is essentially not totally fair, but it's always some great fun It is based on your overall score per team, which obviously increases as your overclock increases, but it's not based ONLY on the difference of the scores (if that makes sense ).
