I would wait until January, buy a 45nm Penryn and a P35 MB, 2GB of G. Skill HZ.

Right now? E6750, DFI Blood Iron board, 2900XT or 8800GTX, E248WFP screen, OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU . That will be a nicely overclockable system, not too expensive, with a 24 inch screen and graphics to match, room for upgrades and SLI/Crossfire. Case and and other stuff are up to you.

well this is of course just my opinion but why spend the extra money on an intel processor thats going to do the exact same thing as the AMD? use that money for your video card. you think u can come up with a better setup then lets see it man.

First of all... no it doesn't. My build lists 1x500GB and 2x250GB. That's 1TB of total space, exactly the same as your total. However, mine offers RAID-0 plus addition backup storage, which yours does not.

 

Mine also offers a faster chip which, when even slightly overclocked, will perform significantly better. Mine also offers a bigger, better case. If I put in the same case you did (which wouldn't effect performance at all), I could be at the same price point.

 

Look in my sig, dude. 3 rigs. All AMD. No Intel. I used to ride the AMD bandwagon too, but that ship has sailed. Intel offers better performance in the high-end market, period.

thats cool man. dont knock the newbie. i didn't see the 1TB drive on there sorry and i do agree on the whole case thing but its def. not first priority. im sure that intel does have some good processors out there but every time i look at buying one they're always overpriced so i always lean to the amd side and they've never let me down so if its not broke dont fix it.
