The Ultimate Aero EV utilizes a twin motor AESP producing an astounding 1,000 HP and 800 lb-ft of torque enabling it to rocket to 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 208 mph. I've actually been oogling an electric motorcycle (partially from the simplicity). They get tons of incentives. I wouldn't buy one until I was capable of commuting for a large portion of the year. From there, it's up to the states (CA is something like you get refunded the tax, and then there are clean air initiatives). I really, really like 'em. The downside is that you have to watch how far you go. But, think of how simple an electric motorcycle is. You have typical motorcycle steering, brakes and suspension, a motor, some batteries, a power management computer, no gearbox. Just turn the 'key' and let the throttle rip All in all, they're under 300lbs.
