I call mine "boy". Asi n:

It finished encoding a video:

"Good job, boy!"

I am upgrading the ram:

"Want a treat, boy? Want a treat? Yes you doo! Yes you dooooo!"

I am bored:

How do you modify the manufacturer image?

Edit: Nevermind I googled it. lol

I don't call my computer by any name, but it's named SystemOne for networking purposes.

ah, this was posted before your time. heh. you need to create an oemlogo.bmp and oeminfo.ini. The link in the original thread no longer works ( http://forums.overclockersclub.com/?showto...3526&hl=oemlogo ).

create a new txt document an name it oeminfo.ini. Then you'll do the following in notepad:

[General]

Manufacturer=the general section appears when you go to your properties

Model=blah blah

[support Information]

Line1=the support information appears when you

Line2=click on "support information"

Line3=by putting this in, the "support information" button

Line4=will automaticaly be generated

and then just save it. You can have as many lines as you want in the support info field, but eventually it'll start to scroll like mine. No way (that I know of) to expand the window.

Also, if you leave a line blank like line 2 in the following code:

Line1=your first line

Line2=

Line3=your second line

Then you will have a space between the two lines

For the oemlogo.bmp, I forget the size reqs, so I'll get back to you on that because I'm not home right now, unless someone else chimes in. (If you're impatient, save my pic, and then crop it so you just have the natalie pics and then see what size that is. I think i did the max, i don't remember.

You place both files in your system32 folder.

i seriously thought that windows wasnt going to let me have a network so i named my computers;

PC1 and PC2....

Incredibly, somehow it worked. and the names never changed.

At least i got creative and used numbers ok!! unlike those that used "server, computer, laptop"!!

i only name stuff if i do some hardcore mods and possibly even engrave the name in or something. my current rig has no name, but once i will mod it woill possibly be "sam fisher", since im goin with a modified splinter cell theme
