krazymonkey500 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I'm looking at this OCZ http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp...N82E16820146890 and this Geil http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp...N82E16820144332 Right now, i'm leaning towards the Geil. I need a more advanced opinion.
Whitelightning Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I for one like OCZ and that is pretty much all I use, just my preference though...There is alot of other ram that overclocks great but I have never had a single stick of OCZ fail me yet!!!! ICON57 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 imho i would chose the geil. From my experience, and if you look in my sig, its the same ram. That is some great ram from geil at a great price!!! not saying that the ocz is not good too, just i would go geil. anyway you can go wrong with either.................good luck on your choice
Nedlinin Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Ive got some of the GeIL value line in my comp now and am pretty happy with it... havent done much overclocking or anything with it yet so I cant say too much though
swimsfast99 Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 if you look at the reviews on new egg the guys using geil can only get 240 MHz out of their ram and that includes voiding their warranty while for ocz they've gotten up to 266 and feel it can go higher without voiding warranty. also ocz has lifetime warranty. Im currently looking at that ram and im just deciding whether to go with it or for a higher off the bat frequency. I am really leaning to the ones that u are looking at. they look like a good deal at 189.
r_target Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 Since the price is the same, I would go for the OCZ based on their lifetime warranty and no B.S. return policy with quick turnaround time.
Guest Raven65 Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Try Mushkin. I like mine. Mushkin They sell direct to the public, no reseller hassles
ccokeman Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Of the 2 i say the OCZ the The DFI nf-4 is a little picky on ram but the OCZ is A-Ok.
JustComputers Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 (edited) I have my OCZ rev2 running at 280mhz or like ddr560 with only 2.8V. I did have to loosen the timings from 1T 2-2-2-5 to 1T 2.5-3-3-5 to do it but still its some truly amazing stuff. If you have a processor with a higher multiplyer than I would definetly get the OCZ. Heres a pic proving it Edited May 12, 2005 by JustComputers
krazymonkey500 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Well like I said, I'm getting a 3200 so I might not be able to get as high as you're saying, but I think I'm gonna go with the OCZ, thanks for all your opions.
