GTSticky Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Where's all the outrage that Linux got hacked? If that had been a Windows IIS Webserver, there'd be Linux-kids laughing about Windows being insecure. Personally, I find it rather entertaining. Perhaps we need a slashdot headline about how insecure Linux is.. :lol
d3bruts1d Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Perhaps if the webmaster had updated the Kernel, this wouldn't have happened. As the "hacker" stated 2.4.18 os old... 2.4.18 was released on 2/28/2002. The current version is 2.6.11 (Mar 2, 2005), and the current version of 2.4 is 2.4.29 (Jan 19, 2005). It doesn't matter if it is Windows or Linux, you have to keep updated.
