Mr_Yuck Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Farcry. Came out of nowhere with minimal hype. The price wasnt too bad. Twas long (still working on it actually), storyline was decent, graphics amazing, AI great, the environment was cool, the huge exploreable island system was pretty cool too. HL2 comes in a close second place for obvious reasons, but it should have been a 2003 game or early 2004, it was expensive ($50-$90, yes I know it came with other stuff, but the originals were free anyway), ultra hyped, and like many other single player games it was pretty dang scripted, didnt give you enough of an Idea what happened in HL1, so many newcomers had no idea what the heck was going on.
