Vampire Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 That ram isnt ECC registered ram... so I dont think it would work with the FX-53 Other than that it would be killer.. cept put a X800XT in it
Newport Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 If your going for the ultimate go for The 6800 Ultra 4 the shaders 3.0 you will be happier....... I dont wanna hijack the thread but i read a review somewhere which stated that the X800 had a small lead over the 6800 by a few frames or whatever until you started messing with the features.. Then the 6800 caught up with the x800 but it still was an even match.
Ghost2520 Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Where the heck did you find that FX-53 for so cheap? The cheapest I've seen is 733 which was on new egg.

ClayMeow Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 well i'd wait until the beginning of june and go with the 6800 Ultra ($500) and then go for the new highend FX that will be released (with the new socket....759? 957? whatever the # is)...should be about $1k for the cpu. Don't know any mobo's for that yet though. And i'd go with liquid cooling....so figure another ~$150 I'm confused on "4 2GB (1GBx2) Corsair XMS DDR 3200- $2,276.00". Do you mean 4 sticks of 1GB memory? Either way, $2200 for memory??? are you insane? I don't care if you're building an ultimate gaming rig or not, there's no game that'll utilize 4GB of memory.
