I can't judge, the first time I broke into the triple digits on a bike I wasn't even wearing jeans. Shorts, t-shirt, sunglasses and a stupid look on my face is all I needed. No helmet or pads on a bike I had literally less than 3 minutes seat time in. On the plus side it was the most exciting/stupid thing I can remember doing.
