BluePanda Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Okay well this took ALLLLLL day but I feel you all have been craving some pictars. Well had the fun to find out I lost/was losing -- something like that a rear hub bearing on the focus on a nice little drive to see campus yesterday So tear the bitch apart... Turned out to be cheaper to replace the ENTIRE drum was cheaper than buying bearings and getting them pressed. Lots more I could say about this and the other issues that came about but I"ll shut up about FORD. (for five minutes) -- so I felt the need to paint the new ones to match still. Anyway -- my main goal this weekend was the new ford racing suspension that arrived Monday last week...that took a lot of effort too unfortunately. WHY FORD YOU HATE ME. The old rear struts -- let's just say they took a long time to "grow" again after compressing them. It is finally all back together but the dropped pictures will have to wait until tomorrow as it was after 8 before she went all back together -- so yea it's dark /end{RANT} Time for a margarita... SpikeSoprano Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Just for the heckof it did you replace the brake pads when you changed the drum, the rear one showing in the pic is just about down to the rivits, that's the one that slows the car down when moving forward, the opposite one is always perfect. Dropped new shoes in too...that was going to be a joke too. lol Bought new SHOES for the car today...lol. Figured I would while we were in there. Well, guess Waco did most of that. I was going to say the same thing, owning and modifying a vehicle are vastly different. I'll be looking forward to seeing the cars with a bit of a drop, I bet it handles a lot better. BluePanda Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Finally got to take it for a spin this morning...WOOOO Definately feels a lot different and actually allows ya to feel the road for a change -- whoa dude. It's amazing how much it has changed; rides and handles sooooo well. Corners? What are those...lol With the weather the cars all needed a bath -- so I felt the need to snap a couple pics as well. So you can now see the lovely in her dropped form and of course admire those green wheels. LOVE IT! Cars all washed: The FOCUS...as much as I hate her, I kinda like her too... And looking back I tried to find a picture of before the drop...here's the best I could find. You could fit your hand sideways between the wheel and fender...now you can get about half -- maybe...still has a little to settle -- but it's the perfect fit IMO. BluePanda Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Got the new toy in today and since it's MLK and I have the day off -- I got to play with it a little bit. Below on the right is the stock header w/cat on the car right now, lovely...on the left is a horribly wrapped header I bought from a guy on focusfanatics for $70 shipped. It's an OBX 4-2-1. After using a hammer and screw driver to break off the ceased and overly rusted clamps I finally could take of the header wrap to see what was left underneath. About an hour of using a wire brush and some sandpaper -- you have a happy dirty Panda. Now curing in the "pink" room it will sit until the next weekend when I has more time to install/burn it in. Not bad for a cheap deal. Usually sells for about $175+ship on ebay -- little effort on my end was worth the pennies saved. Painted black and it looks brand new -- should look much better than the ratty heatsheild taking up space now. Can't wait to see how it changes the sound too!
