wevsspot Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Yep I use Origin. What's up? Bummer news on IB. I was hoping the almost simultaneous release of the I7 3820 and the IB processors would drive down the market price of the 2600K parts I need one, soon. d6bmg Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Very bad news. Bummer news on IB. I was hoping the almost simultaneous release of the I7 3820 and the IB processors would drive down the market price of the 2600K parts I need one, soon. True for many many people. Laststop Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 This upsets me but look on the bright side, you can take the extra time to wait for sales on the equipment you need. It's best to keep your eye out and look at all the sales everyday cause stuff sells out fast on sale. My brother got 2x 2tb hitachi drives 7.2k rpm for 110 each later that same night like 8 hours later i go to order 1 for myself and it's sold out. d6bmg Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 ^ And it saddens me a lot cause, I was eagerly waiting for the performance of 3770K whose specification looks very promising to me + a good upcoming Z77 motherboard.
Laststop Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Yea, I'm waiting to build a mini itx system thats gonna be super powerful and super portable when taking it to buddies house. Bitfenix Prodigy Mini-ITX case IVB equivalent of i7-2600k Radeon 7990 Z77 mini-itx board The problem is the 4 main parts of my build havent been released yet
VaporX Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I am not sure this is all that big of a deal. What I mean is all the numbers we have seen suggest that this is essentially the existing i5/i7 chips with better onboard graphics. While this might be nice for new budget PC builds, lets face it for most of us the onboard is not used. With this being the case there is likely going to be marginal advantages to Ivy Bridge for those of us already running Sandy Bridge.I will of course reserve final judgement until i can actually get my hands on a chip but I think we are going to find that the 2500K continues to show what an incredible chip it is. d6bmg Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) ^ The main point is the 'would be' reduction in cost of 2500K or 2600K after IB is launched. (which is not related to quality or performance in anyway) Edited February 18, 2012 by d6bmg
Muchoman1 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 wow, that is a long wait... but on the brighter side, the e5 2620 is coming out early march! because the ivb is same architecture the only real benefits would be better overclocking if it draws less power and produces less heat than the 32nm... damn you intel and your keeping us waiting
