Im going to read the instructions extremely carefully and read any guides I can find for it so long. Nyt Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Just got it installed . Temps are down by a good 12 degrees on both cores !!!! Just letting the paste and pads set in over tonight . But I got other problems , I just got a virus on my HDD (gone corrupt on me) and am going to be spendiing most of tomorrow formatting and fixing everything If I get time , I'll be dueling again !! Havent done a long run , only a quick 1080p 8xMSAA Furmark so far Its so quiet compared to my reference fan , I actually have to keep reminding myself there are fans running there That's what you get watching online porn. Just like you, i am very scare that i will damage my card, looking for the instruction over and over, starting to screw out the screw one by one, and install that cooler extremely carefully. The computer produce a continuous short beep after the i turn on the computer, i thought that my card is dead, but fortunately, my card are still alive, that beep sound is because my ram is loose during the installation. The card look like a litter bend after install that cooler, but the cooler is very good. The maximum temp of my card is 62C now when running furmark for 1 hour on a hot noon without air-con, while the stock cooler get 93C max. Nope , I think this is a new design cooler from AC , the heatpipe dont come close to the DVI ports and it doesnt bend like those pics around the net. Nyt Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Ok got some cooling results : Heaven Benchmark 1080p max AA normal tesselation at 950mhz and 1290mhz on 1200mV : 5970 1st Core : 70 degrees celsius 5970 2nd Core : 59 5870 3rd Core : 60 Im puzzled about 10 degrees between the cores on the 5970 , oh well. Pretty good still, my old leafblower would be at 85 degrees 1st core and 75 degrees second core Extra : VRM's are in high 70's which is pretty good .
