Dissapointed in D-14 :(

Recommended Posts

These are my temps...im using shin-etsu paste. Dunno what im doing wrong here. Also OCCT seems to lock up at times, ie: "Not responding" but then will continue to run. Anyway i think this is horrible for stock settings with a performance cooler. I'm almost scared to bring it back up to 4ghz.

What "performance" cooler are you using?

Doh! Noctua D-14? Right?

... and reduce your image sizes it takes years to load! ;)

Cheers

here's the actual post: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.p...t&p=1793558

I know you realized what cooler it was I wasn't talking about you

Also ill try to remount but its hard to get the right amount of pressure on the heatsink because of those mounting brackets.

1st of all use the supplied TIM and I am willing to bet the Shin-Etsu you used is applied too thick...

check the contact patch...wipe off the heatsink each time until you have very little "pull-off" but yet still have some...

whoops, i mean to say "he" instead of "i" my bad.

that may be your problem. I tightened the screws all the way, until i got them snug, then twisted them maybe an 1/8 of a turn more. & you're using that goofy screwdriver that came with it right?

Use the NT-H1 that comes with it and remount and retest. Those temps are not right
