@kingdingeling...

alot of people seem to like pc power and cooling power supplies...

why do you think they're so good?

@mattwalter85...

why do you vote pc power and cooling?

any preferential reasoning guys (assuming you're guys of course), or is it just because of the name brand?

PC Power & Cooling is my #1.

they've been making what many believe to be the best in the industry for a very, very long time. I know I can count on stability, voltage regulation, single rail configuration, and the best warranty in the PSU industry.

they trick you saying they are SLI/Crossfire certified when they only have 2 PCI-E connectors.

Stupid reasoning.

There are cards out there that use 1 PCI-E connector, and two of those cards (SLI/Crossfire) use 2 PCI-E connectors.

what is the standard warranty for pc power and cooling power supplies?

they're looking better and better so far, and are probably the most popular units discussed on this site...

may end up picking one of those up next time rather than a corsair.

do they tend to run cheaper in price than corsair?

@hojin994...

that's a good point, perhaps ocz isn't willing to put them through the test because they may not be quite up to par with the rest of the industry.

edit: on a side note to the above, while doing some pricing on pc power and cooling power supplies, on amazon.com, noticed ocz technology associated with the brand...

did ocz buy out pc power and cooling and start manufacturing newer units?

edit 2: nevermind, this sort of answers the question about ocz and pcp and p.

apparently the two companies have partnered together in order to help make pc power and cooling an industry standard, as a recognized best .

Hmm, I don't see Seasonic on the list. And they make some of PCP&C's best PSU,s I think. They are clearly one of the best in my judgement, though they are not cheap.

At least the Silencer 750 is made by Seasonic.

For that matter, most high power, efficient, and quiet psu's are actually made by seasonic, and then rebadged by pcp&c, corsair (the tx650), antec, etc. Eventually, you might get tired of companies rebadging seasonic parts, and then secretly changing the underlying manufacturer later without saying so, much as Antec did with a couple of their lines (truepower and blue, I think were originally Seasonic, but later not -- and not of nearly the quality), and so you just resort to forking over $200 to seasonic directly and avoiding having to keep up with the whole affair. There are other good manufacturers, but seasonic is one of the best. Antec built their rep, with seasonic parts, and then later switched out seasonic and became commodity crap in the eyes of many, many people. Some sites still talk about the legendary antec quality, but those days are long since passed for me (I've had 2 antecs pop). I suspect the same will happen for PCP&C, Corsair, and others, but we shall see.

thanks brsett, didn't realize that sort of thing was the case...

by the looks of it, seasonic should be the best "manufacturer" in the industry.

this small guide lists various companies seasonic has manufactured for... including corsair, antec, and pc power and cooling...

it also has some recommended power supply companies and brands to look for...

which should be considered two separate things.
